AICPA NFP Conference Tax990

Every conference gives us the opportunity to connect with the nonprofit community, hear what’s top of mind, and learn how we can better support the organizations and professionals we serve.

This June, the Tax990 team attended the AICPA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference in Washington, D.C. The conference brings together nonprofit accountants, auditors, consultants, finance leaders, and technology providers to discuss the latest trends shaping the nonprofit industry.

From meaningful conversations at our booth to insightful educational sessions, we came away with valuable ideas that will help shape the future of Tax990.

Here’s what stood out most.

Connecting With the Nonprofit Community

Without question, the best part of the conference was meeting the people behind the organizations.

Whether we were reconnecting with long-time customers, introducing Tax990 to first-time attendees, or simply chatting with nonprofit professionals between sessions, every conversation gave us a better understanding of the challenges nonprofits are facing today.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared your experiences, and let us know what matters most to you. Your feedback helps us continue improving Tax990.

A Bigger Tax990 Presence

This year’s conference was especially exciting because Tax990 had a larger presence than ever before.

We debuted our newly redesigned booth, creating a more welcoming space for product demonstrations, one-on-one conversations, and answering questions about nonprofit tax filing.

Beyond the exhibit hall, Tax990 was proud to sponsor several parts of the conference, including attendee breakfast and conference Wi-Fi. Seeing our logo throughout the venue was exciting, but what mattered most was the opportunity to connect with attendees throughout the event. Whether grabbing breakfast before the day’s first session or checking emails between presentations, conference participants had multiple opportunities to discover Tax990 and start conversations with our team.

Supporting events like the AICPA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference is one of the ways we invest in the nonprofit community, and we’re grateful to have been part of such an impactful event.

One Message Was Clear: More Automation, More Integration

One topic came up again and again during conversations with attendees.

Nonprofit professionals are looking for smarter ways to manage compliance.

Many shared that they want technology that helps reduce manual work by automating repetitive tasks, eliminating duplicate data entry, and connecting with the software they already use.

Automation and integrations are no longer “nice to have.” They’re becoming essential for organizations and firms looking to improve efficiency while keeping up with annual filing requirements.

Hearing this feedback firsthand reinforces the direction we’re taking with Tax990. Every conversation helps us build a better filing experience for nonprofits and the professionals who support them.

AI Is Reshaping Nonprofit Compliance

If there was one theme that dominated the conference sessions, it was artificial intelligence.

Rather than focusing on replacing professionals, speakers emphasized how AI can help nonprofit organizations and accounting firms work smarter by reducing time spent on repetitive tasks and allowing teams to focus on higher-value work.

For nonprofit finance teams, that could mean:

  • Streamlining administrative tasks
  • Improving data accuracy
  • Finding information faster
  • Spending more time supporting their organization’s mission

The message was clear: AI is becoming an important part of the future of nonprofit accounting, and organizations that learn how to use it effectively will be better prepared for what’s ahead.

Looking Ahead

We left the AICPA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference energized by the conversations, ideas, and relationships we built throughout the week.

The feedback we received, the sessions we attended, and the connections we made will continue influencing how we improve Tax990 and support nonprofit organizations across the country.

To everyone who visited our booth, attended a demo, or stopped to say hello, thank you. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from you and look forward to seeing you again at future events.
